Doula Questions

Q. Can I enroll into a training at any time?

A. No, our trainings are only open during certain times of the year to ensure we give the right amount of attention to each cohort. This excludes the Medical Doula training.

Q. Can any teen enroll into the Teen4Teen training?

A. Yes, currently all New Jersey teens are welcome to apply during open enrollment for the Teen4Teen Peer Doula training. You must be 13 - 19 to apply for this training.

Q. Will I learn about sex in the Teen4Teen training?

A. Considering the curriculum is based on preconception, pregnancy and postpartum we will have open discussions around sex. Please do not enroll if this topic is off limits.

Q. Are your trainings online?

A. Medical Doula training is 100% in-person. Perinatal Health, Full Spectrum and Teen4Teen Doula trainings are hybrid which is a combination of on-line and in-person.

Q. Why can't I enroll into the Medical Doula training myself?

A. The Medical Doula training is designed for groups with at least 8 trainees. Facilities or medical programs are 100% responsible for the cost. Please inquire for training cost.

Q. What if I am 18 or 19 and want to enroll in another training?

A. As long as you have successfully completed high school, you may enroll into other doula trainings. Teen4Teen Peer Doula training is designed for students going into or in high school.

Q. Is the Teen4Teen training online?

A. The Teen4Teen Peer Doula training is a hybrid training. This means it's both online and in-person. The in-person portion is for CPR, and other topics not recommended for online learning.

Q. How much are your trainings?

A. We aim to have the Perinatal Health, Full Spectrum and Teen4Teen Doula trainings 100% free to enrollees. We do not cover the cost of classes or items outside of these trainings.

Family Questions

Q. Are the doulas free?

A. We do not control or monitor the cost of the listed doulas. We can only confirm all Certified Doulas are Medicaid approved. To inquire about cost, please contact the doula in your area.
