OUR VALUES
COMMUNITY BUILDING
CULTURAL EMPOWERMENT
PROFESSIONAL ADVOCACY
We cultivate spaces where doulas from various backgrounds can connect, and grow together, fostering a sustainable ecosystem of professional support.
Our mission is rooted in the traditions and languages of our communities, ensuring that birth work is a transformative experience for everyone.
We champion the growth of doulas by providing the business tools and administrative empowerment necessary to thrive in community and healthcare systems.
THE NECESSITY
CLOSING THE GAP
The AAVE Doula Collaborative exists to address deep-seated maternal health disparities. By equipping doulas with the professional tools and cultural grounding they need, we directly counter systemic neglect and transform the landscape of birth and strengthen family units for historically marginalized families.

OUR Story
AAVE Doula Collaborative was founded in May 2024 by President Alreema Vining, whose leadership in perinatal workforce development revealed a critical need: doulas in New Jersey and in the Northeast deserved stronger, more comprehensive, and culturally grounded training. Determined to create the change she had long advocated for, Alreema set out to build a program that truly invests in doulas and the communities they serve. A heart centered program that doesn't throw new doulas into birth work expecting them to excel overnight.
AAVE Doula Collaborative emerged as a bold, community-driven solution. The name AAVE honors their heritage and reflects their mission to Advocate, Advance, Validate, and Empower doulas’ knowledge and impact. AAVE Doula Collaborative not only trains doulas, they also mentor them and show them the real side of birth work.

AAVE Doula Collaborative stands as a testament to vision, resilience, and the power of community—shaping a stronger, more equitable future for perinatal care.
