Our AAVE Teen4Teen Peer training is designed to educate and certify passionate youth in 2 leading perinatal focused careers. Upon successful completion of this training, AAVE TP's will be well versed in birth and postpartum care for their peers, teen health-promotion, the birthing process, and mental health regardless of the peers they serve.

The teen4teen doula training is available to teenagers aged 13 - 19 going into or currently enrolled in high school. By enrolling in this training, teens not only get a jump start on non-medical and low-level medical career options but the education to support their peers, if needed.
What will you learn?
The TP trainees can expect to learn about:

provide teen peer support during pregnancy, labor and postpartum stages

advocate for equality and equity within teen pregnancy

promote physical and mental teen health screenings

support body positivity and gender/sexual choices

How long is the training?
The TP training is 1 month.
How long is mentorship?
The TP mentorship is up to 1 month post training. All trainees are automatically enrolled into the mentorship which falls into summer youth employment with a partnering organization Nurturing Families Two.
When does the training open?
The TP training is only available once a year and is currently closed for 2024!
Who is eligible to enroll?
All youth passionate about maternal and child health are eligible to apply. This training is part of summer youth employment.
