The Teen4Teen Doula is a full spectrum training covering the following specialties:

Birth Doula
Postpartum Doula

Our AAVE Teen4Teen Doula training is designed to educate and certify passionate youth in 2 leading perinatal focused careers. Upon successful completion of this training, AAVE TP's will be well versed in birth and postpartum care for their peers, teen health-promotion, the birthing process, and mental health regardless of the peers they serve.

The teen4teen doula training is only available to currently enrolled high school seniors. By enrolling in this training, teens not only get a jump start on non-medical and low-level medical career options but the education to support their peers, if needed.

What you will learn?

How long is the training?

The TPD training varies from 1 month or up to 3 months.​​​​

The TPD trainees can expect to learn about:

​​

 

  • provide teen peer support during pregnancy, labor and postpartum stages

  • advocate for equality and equity within teen pregnancy

  • promote physical and mental teen health screenings

  • support body positivity and gender/sexual choices

  • preconception health,

  • pregnancy prevention and contraception

  • and more!!!

How long is mentorship?

The TPD mentorship varies per enrollment, age and grade. Graduating seniors can access mentorship for up to 6 months and summer trainees for up to 1 month.​

When does the training open?

The TPD training is only available once a year and is currently closed for 2025!​

Who is eligible to apply?

Any high school senior with a 2.5 gpa and will be 18 by the time the training session starts.
